Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern access to The Shadow website, private session links, organizer-managed live experiences, and related support channels.

By accessing or using The Shadow, you agree to these Terms and to any additional event-specific instructions communicated by the organizer or host.

If you are using The Shadow on behalf of an organization or event team, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that use.

Authorized access and session control

The Shadow is designed for invited or approved participants, hosts, and organizers. Access to a session may be limited by invitation status, timing, venue rules, device compatibility, or organizer decisions.

Session links and credentials

Treat private links, QR codes, and access instructions as limited-use event materials
Do not share access credentials in a way that allows unauthorized attendance or role discovery
We or the organizer may rotate, invalidate, or restrict links when needed for safety, fairness, or operational control

Organizer-managed experiences

Organizers may configure roles, pacing, displays, guest access windows, and support flows for their event
Certain gameplay, moderation, or content decisions may be made by the organizer rather than by The Shadow directly

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the site, gameplay flow, venue displays, or other participants
Do not use the service to harass, impersonate, threaten, or deceive other guests outside the intended game mechanics
Do not upload unlawful, abusive, infringing, or confidential content you are not permitted to share
Do not probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security or session controls except as allowed by law
Do not attempt to access another guest's device, role, or session state without authorization
Do not use the service in a way that could damage the availability, integrity, or reputation of the experience

Content, permissions, and organizer responsibilities

If you submit guest data, assets, instructions, or event materials to The Shadow, you must have the rights and permissions needed to do so.

Organizers remain responsible for the legality, accuracy, and timing of the event information they provide, including attendee notices, venue disclosures, and any required consent collection.

Only upload participant information that you are authorized to use
Make sure event-facing text, media, and instructions are accurate for your audience
Follow any laws, venue rules, or contractual obligations that apply to your event

Intellectual property

The Shadow name, branding, website copy, software, visual design, session logic, and related assets are protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of our service or materials to you. Except for limited use needed to access an authorized session, no license is granted to copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.

Availability, changes, and suspension

We work to keep The Shadow available and reliable, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Performance may depend on venue conditions, browser support, device state, connectivity, organizer configuration, and third-party services.

We may update, pause, restrict, or discontinue parts of the service when needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or product changes.

We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe an account, device, organizer setup, or participant activity creates security, fairness, operational, or legal risk.

Disclaimers and contact

To the extent permitted by law, The Shadow is provided on an as-available basis for live event use, and we are not responsible for losses caused solely by venue connectivity issues, organizer decisions, participant misconduct, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
